Meet the Redrow Graduates

Redrow Graduates help transform LATCH accommodation suite.

Home From Home logoHouse builder Redrow has a graduate recruitment programme which combines training, evidence gathering, project work and demonstration of competence with a view to graduates taking on a prominent role within the company later. The graduates also come together to work on challenges and community initiatives designed to test their ability to work as a team, as well as their communication, planning, coordination and practical skills.

In 2013 the ‘Home from Home’ project was chosen as the community project and the graduates were challenged to give the two lounges, a bedroom and the LATCH boardroom a makeover in just three days! By using Redrow’s supplier network, the team of five Graduate Trainees from Redrow regional divisions across the UK used their project management and negotiation skills to persuade suppliers to provide their services and products free of charge to the project. The challenge ran between 15-17 April 2013.

Here is what the Redrow graduate recruits had to say about being involved in the project.

Helping LATCH with their Home from Home project has been both enjoyable and rewarding. The experience has tested the skills I use during work including communication and negotiation. The project has allowed us to be creative and think for ourselves, which I have enjoyed. Although sourcing materials has been challenging, the finished product makes it all worthwhile. I am proud of what we have achieved in such a small period of time and it is great to have helped out such a fantastic cause.

I am based in the Cardiff Office so was really pleased the Community Project came to LATCH. It was a very rewarding challenge that gave us all a chance to put the skills learnt with Redrow to the test for such a commendable cause. It has been a great experience and I look forward to working with LATCH in the future.

It has been brilliant to get involved in this exciting project. LATCH is an excellent charity that provides invaluable support for those who need it most. Although it has been a lot of hard work, it has been a pleasure to make our contribution to such a worthy cause.

Being involved in the Home from Home project through the Redrow Graduate Programme has been the most rewarding experience. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time working with LATCH and the opportunity to support such a worth cause. The project would not have been a success without the help of Redrow’s trusted suppliers and the charity’s staff.

Having spent 3 days at LATCH you start to understand the fantastic work they do for patients and their loved ones. The opportunity to give something back through this project is one in which we are all proud to have achieved. We hope that the work we have done makes the little bit of rest-bite that the families have in this accommodation a little more comfortable both now and in the future.
