Emyr Owen
Emyr Owen is an inspiration. His courage and humour in his long fight against cancer is helping others face the same battle. Before his tragic death last August, aged 12, his character was expressed in a delightful story he wrote called Pigs in Space. It tells the adventures of Bacon and Sausage. It has been LATCH's privilege to publish the story as a book, illustrated by the Deputy Head of Emyr's school, and there has been a huge public response with many thousands of copies sold already.
Inside the front cover Emyr wrote a dedication:
"LATCH Welsh Children's Cancer Charity have provided mine and other families with so much help and support and I truly hope that the money raised from this book will assist them in continuing their excellent work."
Emyr's family is dedicated to keeping his memory alive and celebrating his personality and imagination.
