Emyr Owen Branch Christmas Raffle raises £3,200

Over the festive period, the Emyr Owen Branch raised an amazing £3,200 through their Christmas Raffle.

On behalf of the Branch and LATCH wed like to say a huge thank you to all of those who donated prizes and bought tickets. The money was raised by Emyr Owen Branch and Emyrs Karavan4theKidz campaign which also continues to keep the caravans – situated in Trecco Bay, Porthcawl – alive in peoples minds. The caravans are exclusively used by families being supported by LATCH as a way of offering them a break from the stresses and difficulties of their childs ongoing treatment.

Sandra Owen, Emyr’s mum who founded Emyr’s Branch of LATCH alongside Emyr’s dad Kevin and brother Huw, said “We are so pleased with the success of the raffle during such a difficult time, and would like to thank everyone who took part. The Emyr Owen Branch of LATCH continues to work tirelessly to raise much needed funds and to raise awareness of the invaluable work that LATCH continues to do in supporting children diagnosed with cancer and their families. Id like to say a very special thank you to Christian Evans and Paul Downes, for all of their work and tireless efforts in supporting the Emyr Owen Branch. Their commitment to our Branch, organising events, giving of their time and their enthusiasm is absolutely amazing. There are too many people to name but without the support we are so fortunate to have we would not be the successful Branch that we are.”

Iwan Jones, General Manager at LATCH It has been incredible to see how people have continued to be so generous this year, especially against the backdrop of the Covid-19 pandemic and the additional strain that has put on everyone. Not only are we very lucky as a charity to have so many fantastic supporters, but we are also very ably supported by our Branches who continue to raise vital funds for us to continue our work at LATCH. Id like to say thank you to everyone involved with Emyr Owens Branch and with the raffle this year, whether its the organisers, those who donated or those who bought tickets – we simply could not do what we do without your support.”

At LATCH we are so grateful for your support and welcome anyone who wants to get in touch to please do so by e-mailing info@latchwales.org or call the office on 02920 748859.
