What We Do

LATCH supports the children who are receiving treatment for cancer at the Children’s Hospital for Wales and their families. Our catchment area stretches from Chepstow in the South to Aberystwyth in the North where an unbelievable 70 new cases are diagnosed every year.

About Us

LATCH supports children with cancer and leukaemia as well as their families from across Wales.

Home from Home Accommodation

LATCH's eight bedrooms are offered to families free of charge and help keep families together during their child’s stay in hospital.

Social Work Service

The LATCH Social Work Team is there to provide practical, emotional and financial support in a confidential environment.

LATCH Psychologists

LATCH funds two essential Clinical Psychologist roles to ensure families' emotional needs are taken care of throughout treatment and beyond.

Ward Based Support Worker

LATCH's Ward Based Support Workers lighten the load for families in so many ways - from entertaining children to shopping, anything to make the day easier.

Supporting the Paediatric Oncology Unit

Since its inception, LATCH has tirelessly fundraised for essential items for the Paediatric Oncology Unit.

Keeping Spirits Raised

LATCH's support for families extends to a number of trips throughout the year, as well as keeping Rainbow Ward's play room stocked with games and craft items.
